Biography

Heather Smith produces the popular morning drive talk radio show The Grandy Group at 630 WMAL in Washington, D.C. She is a veteran radio, television, and film producer. She also has produced three top 10 nationally syndicated radio programs: The G. Gordon Liddy Show, The Laura Ingraham Show and most recently, The Lars Larson Show. Other shows that she has worked on include the top 20 market Orlando morning drive talk radio program WFLA's Shannon Burke Show and shows for XM Satellite Radio. She started working in radio at the age of 17 at WJBX, an alternative rock radio station, hosting and DJing a love and relationships talk show. Prior to WJBX, she founded the radio station at her high school in her hometown.

She has been a television booker for FOX News Channel. She produced Weekend Live with Tony Snow and FOX News Live. She also has produced documentary films hosted by Dick Morris and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Several of her indie films have been played at the Tambay Film Festival and New Zealand Film Festival. The most recent documentary film that she produced was Generation Zero. While in college, she studied film under a co-founder of Sundance Film Festival.

In addition, she has been in front of the microphone having been interviewed on FOX News Channel, MSNBC, and many nationally syndicated talk radio programs about an initiative she spearheaded to mandate American flags in every public classroom in Florida. The Freedom Flag Act was signed into law by Governor Jeb Bush in May 2004. Prior to flag initiative, she was active in Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign in Florida and Gov. Jeb Bush’s 2002 campaign. She also ran an Orlando-based conservative grassroots non-profit organization ROCK.
